Born and raised in Pueblo, Colorado, art has always been Leslie Ebert's passion. She's been drawing and creating ever since she could hold a crayon. As she grew, her interests turned to sculpting, painting, and illustrating. Well known as an artist in her hometown, Leslie participated in her first art show at the age of nine. Throughout her childhood and into her college years, she continued to show her artwork. Leslie won an award for her illustrations while studying in Art and Graphic Design at the University of Southern Colorado, where she did not know her love of art history would later help with designing beautiful garden landscapes.
After two years in college, Leslie moved to Denver to work as a graphic artist, thinking she'd found her dream job. She soon discovered she disliked sitting at a desk all day. On a friend's recommendation, she decided to take an entry-level summer job working for a Denver landscape company. She fell in love with working hard, outdoors.
At that company, Leslie worked for five years honing her skills in every position, learning the ins and outs of the trade. In time, Leslie worked for several landscaping companies in the metro area. Throughout her career, she earned a reputation for her meticulous attention to the details of maintenance and her artistic touch with different styles of pruning. Her ability to be a strong leader and a teacher in the field added to her success.
Wanting to take her artistic abilities to a new level, Leslie decided to start her own company. In 2002 she co-founded Stonegate Gardens. Her company's vision is to create a living work of art with multiple layers of color, texture, height and dimension-while focusing on the individual client's wishes and needs.
Leslie offers Stonegate Garden clients over 12 years of experience in the green industry. She brings a finely tuned artistic sensibility to each project, creating aesthetically unique landscape designs. Where others see obstacles she sees possibilities. Even as the co-owner of a thriving business, she takes a very hands-on approach to design. Don't be surprised if you see her in the field.
In addition to co-owning and running Stonegate Gardens, Leslie is an experienced motorcyclist and enjoys photography. She loves to attend garden tours across the country, walk her dogs, and volunteer for Habitat for Humanity. When her schedule permits it, she sets aside time for drawing and painting, as well.
